Message	When it's online, being run by the alternator, it won't free up any power, since the load will now be felt on the alternator which is providing the electricity for it. And driving something direct is more efficient than driving a generator (which has efficiency losses), running the power through wires (which have resistance) and powering an electric motor (which has efficiency losses). There's no such thing as free energy, it all has to come from somewhere. By trying to circumvent that fact by making the energy transfer less direct, you incur efficiency losses.
